Dahlia Ordering Information

All dahlia tubers are grown here in our Connecticut garden, and are handled with care while primarily keeping the prevention of infectious disease in mind. Strict sanitation protocols are used when harvesting stems, digging, and dividing. All equipment is sanitized and alternated between plants according to recommendations from the American Dahlia Society.

Tubers are stored in vermiculite at a consistent 44ºF in temperature controlled conditions, and are shipped while still dormant in April, weather permitting. Every tuber is guaranteed to have a viable eye. They are sold as single tubers, but might come in a small clump with a few attached to keep the tuber strong during shipping. The size and appearance of the tubers will vary depending on the variety. Even tiny tubers will produce huge, strong and healthy plants!

Once the order is placed, we cannot provide any modifications or additions. If you would like to purchase more tubers, please complete a separate order and they will ship separately. Cost of shipping is calculated based on the distance from our address as per USPS. At this time we do not provide international shipping.

Please note: Packages returned to Little Petal Flowers due to the USPS’s inability to deliver (whether from inaccurate address info provided when ordering or other delivery issues) are ineligible for a refund of shipping fees and will be subject to a 20% restocking fee.

What to do with your tubers when they arrive?

First, open your package and inspect your tubers immediately. All tubers are labeled using a surgical marker and packed in vermiculite for shipping. Your tuber eye may still be dormant and might not have a sprout when your package arrives. This is normal, once the tuber warms up in soil, the eye and sprout will develop. All shipments will include additional information with growing instructions.

Please report any issues within 48 hours of receipt by emailing us directly at stephanie@littlepetalflowers.com with pictures attached in the email. If your tubers fail to eye up within 6 weeks of planting, please do not throw away the tuber. Please email us with all relevant information including photographs of your tuber. Replacement tubers will be sent out as inventory allows until July 1, 2025. If replacement tubers of the same variety are not available, we will provide you with a similar variety/color or credit towards future tuber purchases.

All tuber issues must be reported by August 1, 2025. We cannot honor tuber replacements or refunds after August 1, 2025. Our replacement policy is limited to the purchase price of the tubers only; shipping costs are nonrefundable. We cannot issue any replacements or refunds without proper photo documentation.

Little Petal Flowers cannot be held responsible for tubers drying out, rotting in post-shipment storage, improper planting, weather issues or inadequate customer care. We are also not responsible for tubers rotting after planting due to weather or pest conditions.

Securing Tubers In Your Cart

Putting a tuber in your cart does not reserve it. Only once you've successfully checked out will your order be secured. Tuber inventory is updated automatically based on the tubers needed to fill completed orders. This inevitably results in some varieties becoming quickly unavailable. Our inventory is limited to ensure the viability of every tuber sold.  â€‹â€‹
